UNIVÁS social commitment involves the production of qualified professionals to the broad labour market in the region, capable of producing and transferring scientific knowledge in the health area to private companies and the public sector, aiming at increasing productivity, in a virtuous cycle that aims ultimately to the development of society.

The wound area, with its great social impact and multidisciplinary character, comes to meet a local and regional demand for the development of procedures, products and health policies, which may minimize the impact of this condition in the quality of life of its bearers.

The wounds in their great diversity of ethiologies, have a coverage in primary, secondary and tertiary health care. Thus, it constitutes a public health problem and requires involvement and attention from public health policies in the country. Its management brings together professionals of various specialties, as well as health managers of public and private network from manufacturers and resellers of inputs and products designed to prevention, wound healing and tissue regeneration. The professional master's degree program, with the multi and interdisciplinary focus on wounds, allows the production of professionals with critical consciousness focused on innovation and technology, to act not only on the network of health care, but also in the health management of the municipality and region and improvement of technologies in private companies. The Professional Master's Degree in Sciences Applied to Health from UNIVÁS’ s goals and targets are:

- Train and qualify professionals from the health field that work in the public or private health sector in the region of southern Minas Gerais or who work in the industrial park of Pouso Alegre and region, providing a wide background and critical capacity, through agreements previously made;

- Produce qualified professionals to act in the labour market, capable to make use of the scientific and research method to add value to its activities;

- Develop applied research aimed at the development of products and procedures to improve efficiency in the area of wounds; - Scientific and technological knowledge transfer to the market, for companies, public sector and society as a whole, in order to increase productivity;

- To train professionals able to develop, by scientific method, policies that allow the optimization of resources in the area of health and in the area of wounds for the benefit of social and scientific development in health.
