Laboratories and Vivarium:

BASES OF SURGICAL TECHNIQUE LABORATORY
Area of 118, 6 m2. Equipped to conduct experimental surgical procedures.

PHYSIOLOGY AND PHARMACOLOGY LABORATORY
Area of 108,5 m2. Supports Physiology and pharmacology experiments regarding the Phytotherapy line of research.

PHARMACOGNOSY LABORATORY
Area of 96 m2. It offers conditions for performance in Pharmacognosy, Pharmacobotany and in various aspects of obtaining drugs from natural origin, with special attention to plants, great source of medicines and raw materials for their preparation. Provides structure for the recognition of the main raw materials of animal origin, mineral and, mainly, vegetable used in the pharmaceutical industry.

CHEMISTRY AND BIOCHEMISTRY LABORATORY
Area of 113,2 m2. Equipped for conducting biochemical analysis to attend the professional master's research projects’ interests.

MICROBIOLOGY LABORATORY
Area of 112,3 m2. Equipped to carry out microbiological tests, such as tests and cultures of bacteria and fungi microscopes.

HISTOPATHOLOGY LABORATORY
Area of 99,1 m2. It has the support from the Clinical Hospital Samuel Libânio’s (Hospital das Clínicas Samuel Libânio, HCSL) pathologic anatomy laboratory.

PHARMACOTECHNIQUE AND HOMEOPATHY LABORATORY
Area of 78m2. Equipped for conservation and dispensation of magistral preparations, Officinal, allopathic and homeopathic and/or other products of treatment of wounds’ interest.

VIVARIUM:
Area of 103 m2. Rearing and maintenance of expermintal animals of Rattus norvegicus, wistar rats, derived from American colonies.

WOUNDS OUTPATIENT UNIT:
Clinical Hospital Samuel Libânio: Assistance Core and Nursing Education (Núcleo de Assistência e Ensino de Enfermagem,NAEENF), located at the University hospital facilities. It incorporates an unit which involves knowledge activities, research and assistance to patients with wounds. In NAEENF, inpatients and outpatients from Pouso Alegre and cities in the region are attended. The Basic health unit from Colinas de Santa Bárbara: incoporates a structured outpatient unit for treatment in outpatient regimen of patients with wounds, ostomies and incontinence.

LIBRARY:
Univás has two libraries, equipped with computers with internet access and assistance from librarians and library assistants. There is access to the EBSCO database and Capes journal website.
